Brother Bear

I did not buy these bears. 

They showed up in our lives by chance. 

Other children's abandoned toys

We took them in and loved them. 

The big one is hers. 

It's been guarding her sleep for over a year now. 

I could not wish for a better brother. 

She's dozed in his furry paws

And more than once I may have done it too

The little one is mine. 

It has guarded my sleep for many years. 

It's been in my life for more than 30. 

Its name is Panda but he's not a panda. 

She was confused at first 

But then she got it. 

Little bear and big bear watch us sleep now

And we couldn't wish for better guards.
